Great location in downtown Hobart. Friendly, effortless check in. Friendly hosts, clean rooms, near restaurants and public transportation. Shares bathrooms, very clean and well stocked.

I loved my stay here. It is such a unique, artsy, hip hotel. So different than the typical boring hotel designed by reptilian corporate overlords. Friendly and the easiest check in aI have ever had anywhere! Cool bar, great vibes overall. The place to stay in Hobart!

Such a chill and groovy little establishment! The reception doubles as a bar/brunch space and a comfortable little retro space to just space out, and you're lucky if Nala (the adorable hotel malamute) is hanging around. The bedroom is comfortable and the shared bathroom are kept in great condition. Jimmy is most especially chill, giving a rundown of the space and was really accommodating. Always had time to chat and flashed a smile, and was also quite responsive via mobile in any sort of situation. Though there was some noise disturbances at street level which went through from 6pm through to about 10pm, it did catch the hotel by surprise, but to no fault to them. Alabama Hotel offered a hot beverage/chocolate to offset this which was pleasant. A most excellent location in the heart of Hobart, would definitely come back again next time I'm in Tassie!

I've been meaning to stay here for years, rather than just coming in for cocktails during happy hour. Well worth it! The staff/owners are so nice and helpful. The whole place is funky and quirky. And the location is super convenient. Love it! ❤️

This place is my home away from home. The lounge area is so cozy and the staff are rad. Great spot for a cocktail and the outdoor balcony overlooking Liverpool St. The accomodations are comfortable and spacious and the WiFi is great. Generally, bathrooms are shared which I don't mind. It's affordable too. 10/10 ya gotta check it out.

Amazing price for rooms right next to the Hobart mall and Coles supermarket. As being fly in hikers from Adelaide this place is fabulous and the staff actually bend over backwards to help out! Hands down the best! Did I mention the Decor beautiful… my fav is the vinyl record player👍

The Alabama is a clean, minimalist hotel in a fantastic CBD location - ideal for exploring Hobart on foot. Despite being right in the centre of town, it’s surprisingly quiet at night making it great for a comfortable and restful sleep. The bedrooms are simple and well presented, with comfortable bedding and a mini fridge. Communal bathrooms are spotless and well maintained. While there’s no in-room kitchenette, cutlery is readily available from staff, which is a thoughtful and practical touch. The hotel is perfectly positioned close to the harbour and major tourist attractions with an excellent range of dining options nearby — from high-end restaurants to mid-range and budget-friendly venues. Staff were genuinely helpful offering great recommendations for food and how to spend the day. The common area is a highlight, welcoming both guests and the public, with happy hour cocktails in the evening and coffee available in the morning. Overall, a great option for travellers wanting a central, clean and calm base with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
